Positively Impacting Your Life with God’s Truths – August 2012
Obeying God or men first?
Blessings to you and your family, appreciated readers The elections passed and there are still controversial issues to work. But, these issues are not only important for politicians. Issues as crime, alcohol, drugs, adultery, homosexuality and others concern all of us humans. They have more meaning than what we sometimes give them. God says in his words that with Jesus “we will know the truth and the truth will set us free.” Therefore, the following truth of God and His Word should impact your life positively. Before analyzing any issue we must seek God’s will about that issue and then decide what will be our attitude. We have 2 options. Analyze each issue in life based on our own human opinion or we seek first God’s will.
Acts 5:29 says: “Peter and the apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” The authorities of the town were accusing them of bringing the message of Jesus and salvation. But they decided to put God first, obeying Him before men. They were wise. As Romans 12:16 says: “harmony with one another, not haughty, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” We must not get carried away by what most do or say because in the end, each of us will be accountable to God individually. The solution and the truth about the important issues of life, have nothing to do with Obama, or Romney or any other president, governor, government or any other human being. This is about whether a person believes in God and His Word. This is about whether a person believes in God as a “name” or tradition, or if he/she has a personal relationship with God who is real. People do not want to mix politics with religion and that is correct. However, God is not a religion. God is our Creator and He expects our obedience and to include Him in all areas of our life, including politics.
When Jesus returns to earth, everyone will be judged, including politicians, presidents, kings etc. And God says in I Corinthians 6:9 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God is not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, Nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionist, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of things our God. All is lawful for me, but not everything is all things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.”
God loves homosexuals and lesbians, as He also loves adulterers, thieves, etc., but does not accept their behavior. That’s why Jesus came, died and rose again. To give the opportunity not only to homosexuals or thieves, but all human beings to repent of our sins, accept Jesus as our Savior and be changed by the Holy Spirit, to have our names in the Book of Life of God. And, I remind you that every human being deserves the same respect, regardless of the decision made in their life. And for that respect and the love of God is that I hope Jesus bless and impact your lives positively. Blessings!
