While serving her community as one of the most prominent HIV/AIDS Counselor/educator, her greatest achievements is being the mother of her 3 children. Both Daughters are also graduates of the Syracuse City School District’s Henninger HS. Samantha attended Miguel’s alma mater, Le Moyne College where she has received her Master’s in education and teaches in Phoenix, Arizona. Bianca is presently a Junior at the University of Rochester studying pre-pharmacy with a minor in American Sign language, and Miguelito is a scholarly sixth grader and an aspiring musician.

Her belief is that an education is the window to opportunities and has put her children’s education before her own. Rosemary Arroyo-Perez is the exceptional product of the Syracuse City School District and has graduated two daughters from the same district, and who better to guide the children of Syracuse than a mother who has experienced it for herself?. Amongst all her challenges in life, Rosemary or Rosie is tossing her hat in the ring to run for Commissioner of Education for the Syracuse City School Board Member because there is much work to be done for all the children of the Syracuse city school district.
