That Vacancy is Mine
A Moment Of Reflection
by Lilia m. Fiallo
After presenting the application for the vacancy you must wait for the message or the call for the next phase.
Once you receive the confirmation for an interview, there is tension, but you must give that situation a second place in your mind. Separate that though and concentrate on what really matters. The steps you will take to reach the goal and obtain excellent results. Schedule for the day, time and place you have to go to the interview since if there is any diligence for that moment in advance you can, postpone or change any commitment. Initially you have to spend a few hours to go to the hairdresser or the beauty salon and prepare the right clothes.
Starting from the saying that: “fashion does not bother” we must take into account. That suit is not for me! A proper attire to attend the appointment, gives security, being well dressed, neat and shiny is normal. Maybe fashion wants to impose it, but showing up with torn clothes, a t-shirt, tennis or slippers, does not make a good impression. “As they see it, so they treat it”, says the saying. And it is that think it well, you deserve the best, the prosperity, the advance in life, wealth, wearing ragged clothes that look old, causes a bad impression and brings negative energy.
The colors have great importance in dress and more for this occasion. The red color produces appetite, out of place reactions, crazy to use it where there are cattle, it has relation with danger, it awakens passions. Yellow, the color of traitors and brings bad luck, combined with gray, produces insecurity. On the other hand, the blue color is spiritual sublimity and is perfect to attend an interview; well polished shoes will make an excellent personal presentation.
A great tactic that I once read: “When a person has an interview away from the morbid, imagine the person who is going to interview him in underwear, it will be funny to think, because when passing the threshold of the door and face to face with the interviewer, the mere fact of thinking so, will make you smile, overshadowing a bit the nervousness.
It may be that you have many degrees and master’s degree, after so many nights of sleeplessness, effort and sacrifice, but to become great spiritually, you should always be accompanied by the best feelings: simplicity and humility. Do not let in your mind the virus of arrogance because it will be a fatality.
Presumably, there will be a written examination and a couple of more appointments with the company’s directors.
On the written exam there will be biased questions, like an elementary I once found: “What weighs more, a pound of iron or a pound of cotton?
Starting from the principle that this vacancy is for you, you will have to analyze carefully before answering each question because the written exam has, in addition to a good score some questions to think about. Once that test is passed, one or two more interviews will come.
The next appointment will be precise to enter. When you are in front of the interviewer, you will have to put all your talent into practice with serenity and poise to answer all the questions, there is one that is definitive: “salary that aspires”? The answer can’t be other than: “the one that the company assigns”; because it is sure that they will not call you again if you are the one that sets the salary. If you allow the company to assign you the salary, you will have a third and last interview to welcome you.
Maybe the salary is not according to your aspirations, but look at the advantages that vacancy, will have.
Lilia M. Fiallo was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where, between tasks and free time, she found a place to write about subjects, somehow forgotten by others. With gold letters engraved in her memory, she began her working life, in the heart of the technical part, of the air traffic control of her native country. In the midst of aeronautical phraseology and codes, the world of aviation gave her one of the highest experiences, because of the precision required by this craft, where a single mistake could cost many lives. It is there, where in her concern to communicate her ideas, she begins to write with dedication, themes a little relegated by society, the Church and the State. Discovering a truth that nobody wants to talk about, but much more real and everyday, than it seems. It is thus, as it appears, her first work, “Parir por palir”.
