The Muscles of the Mosquitoes

A Moment of Reflection
by Lilia M. Fiallo

When kay goes shopping, cup one or two credit cards with the acquisition of clothes that flaunt an exorbitant price; she enters store A, in search of a skirt whose price is $ 99; she turns and goes for the department store B; there, she sees a similar skirt approaching $120. She does not think twice and purchases it. Next, she remembers that she needs to change the black, red, blue and brown shoes she bought last year. Ah!, but she remembers that the training sneakers she has, although it does not look worn out, it is worthwhile replacing them with the new style that she saw days ago, and in this trip she will buy them.

She gets the most famous footwear store, and after three hours, she comes loaded with packages, to place them in her car. She returns to keep walking in search of more cravings. Shoes, three blouses and four brand name purses, with all of the items from before, she fills the trunk of her car. She carefully leaves the tickets from her purchase to show them to her friends and to make them think that she has money; like Brye does, he does not measure his cravings either.

She likes to brag, she has pretensions of grandeur!, her husband does not deny it, she is like that. With roof, food and clothing, she still does not feel realized, something is missing… She continues year after year, inside a capsule, pretending to the outside world a buoyant life.

How many Kay’s and how many Brye’s, walk around, absent of themselves, without entering their own being? Perhaps, when they come home and unload all packages, they feel a void so great inside that thousands of packages loaded with material goods does not fill.

And it is that in a latent reality; man, day by day worries in the search for insatiable power and money away from the essential: his own spiritual state, his own divine greatness so forgotten and faded, his great treasures of the soul, which have been left in a dusty old basement. His or her weakness for being authentic is as strong as the muscle of a mosquitos…

We go thru life unaware of reality: ourselves. And is that we do not live individually the truth that is our own, sometimes incline for the emptiness, for the negative, for that which is bad, for what does not work. We should tune in the mind to the positive; from the moment we wake up until we lay down to sleep, starting the day with God´s presence, and at nightfall, giving Him thanks for everything that happened up to that time.

How easy we continue being misled, living in a sub-realism of goods and appearances before the outside world, and perhaps, the outside world, has not even noticed our presence. If we enter inside our being, ignoring what does not work, what harms us, there would be another horizon in life.

The body that God has given us, by respect and dignity every human being has the moral duty to care for and not attack it in any way or form. To lead transformations and unusual changes in the body because we do not accept ourselves as we are, can bring dire consequences. To lose our health, consciously we lose an immensely difficult to recover treasure is lost.

Instead of worrying about to many banalities, appearances and material things, it is worth to enter ourselves to know and recognize, what we´re also doing the task.

Lilia M. Fiallo was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where, between tasks and free time, she found a place to write about subjects, somehow forgotten by others. With gold letters engraved in her memory, she began her working life, in the heart of the technical part, of the air traffic control of her native country. In the midst of aeronautical phraseology and codes, the world of aviation gave her one of the highest experiences, because of the precision required by this craft, where a single mistake could cost many lives. It is there, where in her concern to communicate her ideas, she begins to write with dedication, themes a little relegated by society, the Church and the State. Discovering a truth that nobody wants to talk about, but much more real and every day, than it seems. It is thus, as it appears, her first work, “Parir por parir”.
